Ottawa, July 16, 2013.  The federal government announced a major cabinet shuffle on Monday which will see Jason Kenney, the current Citizenship and Immigration Minister, move to the Department of Employment and Social Development, which will be the new name for the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development (HRSDC).

Some facts about The Honourable Chris Alexander:

Age: 44

From: Born in Toronto on Sept. 9, 1968.

Family: Married to Hedvig Alexander, has two daughters, Selma and Elisabeth.

Education: Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Politics from McGill University; Master of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford.

Past work: Worked for 18 years as a diplomat with postings to Russia and Kabul, Afghanistan. Served as Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan between 2005 and 2009.

Political experience: Elected as the Conservative MP for Ajax-Pickering on May 2, 2011. Appointed the parliamentary secretary to the minister of national defence on May 25, 2011.

We hope this new change will give some fruitful results from CIC Bangkok office.
